Lexi – Privacy Policy

Lexi (“Lexi Language Learning”, “we”) is a language-learning app operated by Saeed Rezaeitoroghi, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it. It applies to the Lexi website (lexi-blush.vercel.app) and the Lexi mobile apps.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: your email address, name (if provided by Google or Apple sign-in), and an internal user ID. Used to create and secure your account.
• Learning content you add: text you paste, photos of pages, PDFs and audio files you upload, your notes, and the words, structures and sentences extracted from them. Used to build your personal learning material and review schedule.
• Voice recordings: when you use shadowing, speaking practice or pronunciation check, your recording is sent to our speech processors (OpenAI Whisper, Microsoft Azure Speech) to be transcribed or scored. Recordings are used only to produce your result and feedback.
• App activity: which items you reviewed, your answers, scores and streaks. Used to run spaced repetition and show your progress.
• Billing (web only): subscriptions purchased on the website are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

2. How we use AI services

To extract vocabulary, generate practice tasks, correct your writing and transcribe audio, Lexi sends the relevant content to AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Microsoft Azure) acting as our service providers. They process it on our behalf and do not use it to advertise to you.

3. What we do not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not show ads or share your data with advertisers.
• We do not collect your location, contacts or device identifiers for tracking.

4. Storage and security

Your data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS) and transmitted using HTTPS encryption. Access is protected by row-level security so only your account can read your data.

5. Your choices

• You can delete any material, item, recording or session inside the app at any time.
• You can delete your whole account and all associated data — see Delete your account.
• You can request a copy of your data or ask questions by emailing saretocan@gmail.com.

6. Retention

Your data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, all of your data is removed from our database within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or billing reasons.

7. Children

Lexi is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
